I am an Economist with 6+ years’ experience, who helps large financial corporations analyze their data to reveal key insights that allow for actionable recommendations that will improve their processes, overall risk management, and profit maximization. Further, I have championed economic surveillance and reporting, forecasting, economic modeling, and statistical analysis. I have well-honed writing skills which I developed through the preparation of research papers, economic publications, and policy briefs/ notes. I have a very inquisitive mind and I’ve always loved figuring out how something works or why something happens. I am amped up by the opportunity to delve deeper into unknown areas and that’s why the field of Economics excites me – Economists are always trying to explain a phenomenon; even though it is often argued that we rarely conclude, ceteris paribus. This analytical mindset has made my most recent job a great fit for me. I get to research key phenomena in the economy and use data, statistical modeling and some deep thought to reach actionable recommendations. Luckily for me, I’ve been able to share some of my findings with economic audiences through my publications (more on that in the Featured Article section) and at local and regional conferences. I’ve also had the experience of using information available to me to forecast what is reasonably expected to occur in Trinidad and Tobago’s macroeconomy. It’s a humbling experience to do what I love and love what I do. I am filled with gratitude at the ability to continue challenging myself to learn and experience new things while doing it with a team – because there’s strength in numbers.
