My journey into community wellness began in 2004 with my experience in owning and managing a children's gym (for kids 4 months - 12 years.) Communicating with parents about the benefits of exercise for the physical body and brain development was one of my favorite parts of the program. I developed a deep understanding of the importance of early health intervention. I felt proud of what the parents and children learned and accomplished. However, it all came to a screeching halt in 2011 when circumstances beyond my control forced the closure of the business, I was devasted. I felt I had lost my purpose.Switching gears, I turned to a skill I had developed before owning the gym, marketing. As an independent consultant, I began working in a creative direction in marketing and website design for small to medium-sized businesses. As a parent in a small school district, I got involved in serving the community as a fundraiser for our education foundation to bring financial support to underfunded programs. I found a new delicate balancing act we as parents have to perform. I frequently referred to myself as a professional juggler, between work-life balance, and keeping all three balls (parenting, fundraising and marketing) in the air.Fast forward to today. My youngest child will leave for college in the fall. It's time to get back to my purpose. I'm interested in transitioning from a successful career in web design and marketing to my passion for community wellness, longevity, healthspan, and personalized nutrition. I'm expanding my expertise in community wellness and I'm excited to contribute to projects and initiatives that aim to improve community health and personal well-being.I look forward to connecting with like-minded professionals in this vibrant field to learn, collaborate, and make a positive impact on people's lives.
