Darcy is the office manager for our Smithers branch and is driven to provide high quality mechanical consulting services in northern BC. Darcy is originally from northern BC and throughout his career he has maintained projects in the area with the intention to one day provide full-time consulting services dedicated to the region. With the establishment of a physical office in Smithers, he is ready to deliver on this commitment and is excited for new opportunites in the North to assist municipalities, first nations, school districts, health authorities, developers, owners, and operators with planning, building, maintaining and managing their built environments such that they are reliable, effective, efficient, and maintainable.

Started with Rocky Point Engineering as a Mechanical Designer in February 2011 after finishing a co-op mechanical engineering degree at the University of Victoria. Received LEED® accreditation in 2014 and P.Eng. license in 2015. Became an associate with the firm in 2018.Have worked on a diverse range of projects from small commercial and residential projects to large commercial, LEED, healthcare, education and industrial projects. Involvement in projects includes cost estimating, reports and studies, schematic design, detailed design, HVAC load calculations, HVAC design, plumbing design, energy modelling, drafting and 3D modelling, construction administration, construction inspections, and commissioning.Specific project work includes dust collection system upgrades to meet latest WorksafeBC requirements, HVAC upgrades at BC schools, mechanical retrofits at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.Has led AutoCAD and Revit standardization efforts with the company as part of a CAD standards committee. Seems BIM integration into standard workflows as standard practice in the future of the construction engineering consulting industry.
