My path in the insurance industry began in 1993, the Monday after finishing university exams nonetheless. I’ve been privileged to work with some amazing people and to enjoy a job that I truly have a passion for in the mutual insurance industry. Over the years I have enjoyed various aspects of the business including:- worked as an insurance broker in a small family brokerage, which included doing payroll as well as numerous other administrative tasks, servicing policyholders and completing applications of new business in areas of home, auto, farm and commercial insurance for the first five years of my career- successfully operating my own home office as an exclusive agent which included all functions of a small business venture for a period of fourteen years, this included maintaining a trust account to collect payment of policyholder premiums for payment to the insurer as well as remittance of tax. Serviced and grew a book of business in personal lines insurance, as well as farm and commercial. - managing a group (of approximately a dozen) insurance agents and customer service representatives for ten years. Included nurturing growth of individuals, monthly team updates/meetings, offsite sales retreats, recruitment, goal setting and individual review assessments - strategic planning, budgeting and analysis of all things insurance related on various projects with an innovative and experienced management team, reporting monthly at managers meetings of all levels and Board meetings. Reported directly to COO and CEO- organized, promoted and successfully administered small business summits to attendees in Niagara - marketing budgets preparation, reconciliation and balancing of funds - responsible for growing all digital marketing efforts and maintaining traditional marketing within the mutual insurance industry, this included overseeing and approval of all areas including website, SEO, Google & Social Ads, social channels, video content and more as relates to inbound & outbound marketing or value-added features (produces & services) in customer service. - seek and grow partnerships with local business and organizations within our community - mentorship of staff and leaders within our organization- completing our company’s Annual Statement of Market Conduct - customized packaging of member renewals - branding our company internally with staff and externally to both members and prospects - developing transactional customer surveysI am always excited to tackle new challenges!
