My role as a technician in the St John's Technology workshops requires me to:+ Maintain and repair workshop equipment and tools. + Perform routine checks and servicing of machinery.+ Ensure all workshop activities comply with health and safety regulations. + Provide technical support and set up and dismantle equipment for classes. + Manage inventory of tools, materials, and consumables.+ Keep the workshop organised and clean. + Maintain records of equipment usage and maintenance. + Stay updated with new technologies and techniques. + Implement new processes and improvements in the workshop.

I was working with students to help them cope with the classroom environment and achieve academic success. This required sensitivity and understanding, excellent communication skills, and the patience to remain calm in stressful situations. I enjoyed working with a diverse group of staff and students, and the flexible nature of the role.

Roots Music Aotearoa was born in 2006 from the growing success of the Darcy Perry Band and a desire to get New Zealand music heard overseas. With the help of Ode Records and Amplifier, Roots Music Aotearoa has released five albums so far with a growing list of international connections.
