CurrentThe Medicare Rights Center is a national, nonprofit consumer service organization that works to ensure access to affordable health care for older adults and people with disabilities through counseling and advocacy, educational programs, and public policy initiatives.Client Services Associate:- Provide Medicare counseling to resolve health insurance issues with empathy and clarity.- Address Medicare and Medicaid concerns and make timely referrals.- Maintain call records and collect data to support advocacy efforts.- Assist low-income beneficiaries with benefits enrollment and outreach.- Follow up with clients to ensure issue resolution and share resources.- Support outreach efforts to educate individuals on Medicare rights.The Community Health Access to Addiction and Mental Healthcare Project (CHAMP) helps people overcome insurance barriers to mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) care. Created in 2018, it is overseen by OASAS and OMH and partners with community-based organizations (CBOs) to provide casework, outreach, and education.CHAMP CBO Representative- Casework: Resolve insurance issues for MH/SUD care or refer complex cases.- Outreach: Inform communities about CHAMP services and insurance rights.- Education: Teach clients and providers about laws protecting MH/SUD services.- Regional Support: Assist clients and engage with local stakeholders.
