Headed up the sales and servicing teams across South Africa covering various industries; including Refining, Mining, Paper, Sugar, Food & Beverage and Automotive.I was responsible for the delivery on the sales numbers, training and development of all staff and the introduction of a sales support system as well as the Business Excellence model.I excelled in the editing and execution of Technical Tender writing for our bigger clients.All 7 South African Business Managers reported to me, with 140 indirect reports. I reported directly to both the customers and into our Board of Directors. I enjoyed the interaction at all levels of the business.

Field sales and technical support included face to face communication and troubleshooting with the customers. Besides the responsibility of driving the sales plan I enjoyed the challenge of empowering individual team members and assisting them with problem solving. Communication at all levels was the key to our success. We were responsible to report writing, tenders and presentations to the customers. Our division was bought by AECI in 2012.

I started my career as a Chemical Analyst, moved into laboratory management and later included Production and SHEQ management. My role included the SHEQ documentation; drafting and implementation and I was also a qualified ISO auditor. From here I was recruited into my chemical sales role.
