My name is Darien Gauthier, and I am a first-year student in the Business Economics Co-op at Brock University, and a part of Brock’s Law Plus program. I have had an interest in the legal profession from my Understanding Canadian Law class in grade 10, which developed further through my participation in various mock trials during my last 2 years of high school. I chose to study economics due to my interest in money and its real-world functions and applications. I hope to use my time as an undergraduate co-op student to build my knowledge and experience in the field of finance before pursuing a J.D. in law at a Canadian or northeastern American university, before continuing to a career in financial law.
