About Darin Clark
As an Assistant Professor in the Radiology Department at Duke University, my objective is to understand and apply state-of-the-art advancements in mathematics and computer science to create fundamentally new imaging tools and analysis methods. Key areas of my research include the development of GPU-accelerated reconstruction algorithms for X-ray CT, the deployment of deep learning algorithms to accelerate signal processing tasks in medical imaging, expanding the functional and molecular imaging capabilities of X-ray CT using novel nanoparticle contrast agents and multi-energy CT, and translating preclinical CT reconstruction and denoising methods to clinical applications. Joint appointments in the preclinical Quantitative Imaging and Analysis Lab, run by Cristian Badea, PhD, and the clinical Center for Virtual Imaging Trials, headed by Ehsan Samei, PhD, at Duke uniquely position me for translational CT research. Along these lines, the Multi-Channel Reconstruction (MCR) Toolkit I have developed efficiently solves “multi-channel” (time, energy-resolved) CT reconstruction problems using matched operators and algorithms for both small-animal, preclinical data and human clinical data. Establishing this bridge between domains allows years of preclinical developments with photon-counting CT (PCCT) technology to be applied to data sets collected with newly available clinical PCCT hardware.A complete list of my publications can be viewed and downloaded from ResearchGate: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Darin_Clark. Listed skills include Ct Reconstruction, Spectral Ct, Dynamic Ct, Cuda, and 3 others.
