Current student at the University of Pittsburgh graduating in December with a B.S. in psychology and a B.S. in sociology. Each semester so far in my academic career I have made the Dean's list and been awarded various scholarships and grants from the university; including the Cathedral Achievement Scholarship and the DEI and Anti-Racism Research Enhancement Grant. I currently work as a research assistant and lead teen recruitment and retainment in the Study of Teen Experiences that Promote Success (STEPS) Lab, a research lab within Pitt's Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC) focused on understanding how wealth inequality effects adolescents through various mechanisms. I also am a research assistant and lead exploratory data analysis in the Understanding Development in Diverse Contexts (UDDC) lab, a developmental psychology lab centered on understanding how race and socioeconomic status effect health outcomes. I also have experience working directly with children, last summer I worked for KOOL summer program in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania where I planned lessons and activities for low-income first through fifth graders. I also served as a teaching assistant in a psychology research methods lecture of 91 students, where I helped students understand the various facets of the research process. Upon graduation I will be conducting an independent research fellowship through a diversity grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. Outside of school and work I love watching sitcoms, staying active and reading about current events. My research interests include: wealth inequality and the effects on child development as well as asset-based policy.
