As a materials engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group, I support Global Operations in the selection, application and processing of adhesives and other materials. Starkey utilizes various UV curing, 3D printed and vacuum applied materials as well as traditional materials. In addition to new material and process research, I support Safety, Regulatory and Warranty groups with critical material science knowledge. My immediate effect was to assist in establishing conformal coating to drastically reduce returns due to moisture incursion.Ongoing research includes UV and secondary cure adhesives, circuit hardening and education and improvement of worker safety.
