I worked in healthcare for four years now. I started off as a medical receptionist for a community health center. While working I learned about HIPPA and other healthcare rules and regulations. After my first year I got promoted to be a team lead for the afternoon shift. That opportunity helped me become a better leader and taught me how to train and help other co-workers in a successful manner. After two years at the community health center, I changed jobs to a Patient Service Representative for a urgent care. This opportunity has allowed me to better understand the process for a different type of clinic. Along with the processes, I had the opportunity to learn multiple different software that is commonly used in medical facilities. Both jobs have given me the opportunity to serve patient in person and over the phone. Being fluent in Spanish has also helped me communicate more effectively with Spanish speaking patients.
