I am a teacher and administrator who has nearly 20 years of experience teaching and training language and writing in the classroom and for professional audiences. Specifically, I have extensive experience teaching composition, expository writing, developmental reading and writing, English as second language, culture and education, writing and editing, especially grant and proposal writing, creative writing, along with a year of Spanish language teaching. I am proficient with instructional design, curriculum development and online education principles, having developed an English curriculum for Gateway to College at Metropolitan Community College, online courses at both Iowa Western and Metro and online education programs at Creighton. Further, I have created curriculum and programs for classroom and international education grant programs funded by the Department of State. I have been fortunate to work extensively with the immigrant and refugee communities in Omaha as well as non-traditional students and international students from more than 100 countries.
