Coordinating the activities of 3 Skilled Trades Consortia Across Ontario; Regions include: Hamilton-Wentworth/Halton, GTA and Waterloo Region/Guelph. These Consortia consists of Colleges (Mohawk, Sheridan and Conestoga) plus employers, government training consultants, community stakeholders/organizations and USW representatives along with Canadian Skills Training & Employment Coalition (CSTEC)) representatives meeting to discuss mutually beneficial apprenticeship/labour market issues while drawing on the resources of all the members.CSTEC - "We Build Training Consortia"An example of a Training Consortia function/purpose - Hamilton Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Consortium (HSATC) - HSTAC’s Mission is to build a better future for our community by advancing the success of employers and the skilled trades.HSTAC’s Vision is to foster world-class training practices that meet the demands for skilled trades in our community.Key Responsibilities:- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (employers, unions, school boards, NGOs and Mohawk College)- Recruiting employers to participate in the consortia- Recruiting and Placing Mohawk College Skilled Trades/Mechanical Techniques programs grads with employers- Signing-up/Recruiting skilled trades candidates into HSTAC - apprentices, millwrights, electricians, welders, machinists/machine operators, plumbers, skilled/semi-skilled labour, etc. - Placing candidates into career positions among the employers participating in HSTAC- Sponsoring Apprentices - HSTAC is a registered Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) sponsor - registering apprentices for employers participating in HSTAC as their sponsor; putting training agreements in place- tracking, monitoring, providing support for Apprentices and Employers through the Apprentice's process (up to 4 years, plus)

- Building regional networks of employers, unions, regional training boards, colleges, provincial offices and NGOs in each region;- Recruitment of employers into Regional Industry Committees (RICs);- Completion of interviews and surveys with employers as set out in the activities and outcomes in the agreement with ESDC;- Collection of data from publicly available sources including collective agreements, college programs and enrollments for skilled trades, technicians, and technologists and other information as required;- Convening of validation meetings of RICs as set out in the activities and outcomes in the agreement with ESDC ; and,- Any administrative and/or secretarial functions as required by the RICs.

Employment Consultant/Owner for RRC Employment Services and as an Employment Consultantfor Working For Work/KW Multicultural Centre (Partner with Region of Waterloo)Responsibilities/Accomplishments Include:- providing Ontario Works and private clientele with customized employment services, including: resume/cover letter preparation, job search strategies, job development and moral support (before and after securing paid employment)- placing over 3500 clientele into permanent/long-term paid employment - having over an 85% success rate of securing clientele paid long-term employment- working professionally with clientele from a variety of cultural backgrounds

- employment and small business counselling for neighbourhood residents- providing support to residents plus submitting monthly progress reports- developing, coordinating and implementing employment initiatives for residents - working with residents, Langs Staff, Lutherwood, HRDC plus other not-for-profits- developing, administering and analysing CED and market research surveys

- collecting, analysing and presenting demographic and physical data - working with neighbourhood residents/associations and city staff

- extensive data gathering (networking among agencies)- designing admission/discharge forms and data base for client information - training and working with staff and management on computers (data base)

- reviewing mandates of Community Economic Development (CED) Organizations- collecting, organizing, analysing and presenting information on CED processes - teaching classes on CED processes in Canada and the Third World - grading papers and organizing lesson plans
