I am seeking a role as a Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Engineer, Platform Engineer, or System Administrator. I'd prefer a full-time permanent role in an organization where I can stay for a while, but I'm also open to discussing relevant contract roles. A fully-remote role would be preferred, but I will happily consider hybrid or on-site roles. I am available immediately. My life has revolved around computing, communication, and technology. Learning digital logic at a young age set me on a path towards programming, computer hardware and software, and analog and digital communications, first as hobbies and then as my career. It has not been easy. I have experienced and overcome personal and professional challenges. These have allowed me to grow and to explore other possibilities, strengths, and interests.I started my career in tech and worked in the field for many years. After recovering from a personal tragedy, I decided to try something different: I worked in the coffee industry for a year. Later, I became a yoga teacher; I attended a training program, earned a professional certification, and taught at multiple yoga studios and gyms for two years. Then, I had the opportunity to complete a life-long dream: to earn my BA in Linguistics. I did this in one of the best Linguistics departments in the US, and I even went a step further and completed over three years of graduate study in the field. These experiences have improved me beyond measure, and I gained useful knowledge and skills in the process. My experience is very broad, with some strong points: * Linux * Programming and scripting (e.g. Bash, Python, Go, etc.) * Bare metal on-premise and cloud environments (i.e. AWS, Azure, and GCP) * Virtualization (i.e. Citrix Xenserver, VMware, VirtualBox) * Containerization (i.e. Docker) * Automation (i.e. Terraform, Ansible, Bash) * CI/CD (i.e. Jenkins, CircleCI) * DevOps and Agile tools (e.g. Gitlab, Github, Slack) * Embedded computing (i.e. Raspberry Pi, ESP8266) * Technical documentation and ticket/issue tracking (e.g. Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow)I’ve worked with many technologies; lists on this profile are not exhaustive. When I encounter a new technology, I can learn to use it quickly and easily. The breadth of my experience allows me to work in wildly different environments, businesses, and positions, and to hit the ground running.
