I recently graduated with a Master's in Regional Planning from Cornell University to learn more about community engagement. My thesis research during my Master's explored community through a sociological lens with the intent for it to serve as steps towards thoughtfully working with diverse populations. My background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from the University of Memphis and working as a designer at Perkins & Will's office in San Francisco ranging from corporate interiors to urban design. It was during my time at the firm that I developed an interest in how public spaces can better serve communities. This exposure to urban design projects led me to shift my career focus toward studying communities, where I aim to influence design decisions that reflect and meet the needs of residents. Looking ahead, I aspire to leverage my combined background in architecture and city planning to create spaces that better reflect the voices and needs of the communities they serve. I'm committed to navigating the intersection of design and social impact in my future professional endeavors.
