My role at the Chandler Macleod Group (CMG) was in the volume graduate recruitment team. My responsibilities included:- Graduate candidate processing and screening- Assessing video interviews- Designing dynamic reporting templates- Modifying online application forms- Functional mailbox management- Assessment centre administration and preparation- Reference checking

My role in this team was primarily administrative; dealing with client spreadsheets and modifying the data to be consistent with our format. It mainly involved spreadsheet manipulation, combining tables, and Excel sub-string formulae.Due to my previous Excel experience and a constant drive for innovation, I was also able to make several efficiency improvements across a range of processes. These included:- The use of "if" statements within Word mail merge fields that change wording depending on the linked data. This cut the number of different Word merge documents required.- Designing an Excel macro that splits any Australian address contained in one cell into separate fields (i.e address, state, postcode etc)- Researching and incorporating existing software to simplify processes (e.g programs that separate/combine PDFs, or convert PDFs into Word docs).- Use of macros to automate Excel processes (e.g to generate weekly and monthly reports)- Creating a database of Australian postcodes with their Google driving distance from the city center- Identification of processes that can be simplified and then moved offshore. This was then completed through writing process documents and training employees.
