• Challenge of the project is to model a new type of qubit in bilayer graphene (BLG) single QD, where the charge and spin degree of freedom can be manipulated individually and coupled.• Ab-initio simulation of BLG properties using DFT (Quantum Espresso). hBN layers and WSe2 included in order to consider the influence in the spin-orbit interaction for VB and CB. • Quantum transport simulation with self-consistent resolution of S.E. and Poisson in order to extract the behavior of a real device.• Qutip simulation for describing coherent evolution of the charge and spin qubits.

• Characterization of a Double Quantum Dot (DQD) obtained in a gated bilayer graphene structure.• Characterization of a NbTiN coplanar waveguide superconducting resonator for its integration with the graphene DQD in view of circuit quantum electrodynamics• Full-time laboratory experience with solid-state physics devices, cryogenics and RF measurements.

• Development of Python scripts to simulate the behavior of a two-level system in N-V centers in diamond under coherent operations. The aim was to develop a simulation able to predict the response to dynamical decoupling pulse cycles in view of further applications in temperature sensing with N-V centers in diamond.• Related experiment on a superconducting-based quantum computer using IBM Quantum experience. Focus on Qiskit Pulse, where was investigated the shaping dependence of single pulses in a cycle used for manipulating the qubit.
