I design and build one of HMH's strategic projects, an ePUB3 compliant digital content renderer (called RCE)that enhances the user's experience with their books by integrating them with HMH services such asannotations, data persistence and annotations to name a few.This project is at the core of HMH's infrastructure, working as a platform for every piece ofcontent to be delivered. It will be used by more than 50 million students and teachers in the USover the next few years.As an Engineering Architect, I'm responsible for the overall architecture of the product.Being a core project, it gets a lot of requirements from the different content teams, some ofthem even conflicting with each other. To avoid building a huge monolith, RCE has adopteda technology we created at UXtemple called Panels (github.com/UXtemple/panels), which allows us toscale to any number of small applications and compose them as we see fit.The main components of the tech stack we use are React, Redux, PouchDB, Howlr and Panels.We're an agile team of six engineers, a business analyst, a few UX and UI designers, a productowner and two QAs plus stakeholders.As part of my role, I mentor the team in a constant basis on the tech stack and architecturalpatterns we use, as well as other bits such as GraphQL, React Native and NodeJS to broaden everyone's scope.We're currently using Pages (usepages.com) to define our UIs and their behaviour (UX) togetherwith designers in real time so that we're all active parts of the same process. Pages output is composed React components.Pages is the predecessor of ViewsDX (viewsdx.com), which the RCE team should be moving to soon.ViewsDX presents a simplified UI/UX language free from the bits that make non-developers run away from code. It manages to achieve composition without the use of indentation or punctuation.I'm very fortunate to be working with a very talented and open team that takes challenges on and produces brilliant solutions :).

Plan, develop and implement the technical design and architecture of Ex Ordo Ltd., an Abstract Management for Conferences platform.Because it's a management tool for an external process, it follows a different pattern of interaction by presenting well-defined workflows to the user through a set of ToDos. If there's nothing to do, then, you're free from the app. Functional design was on the way here since there were almost no more menus to wander around trying to find what to do next.Technology wise, Ex Ordo was built through a master slave architecture which, for security reasons, split each Ex Ordo instance on its own silo while still sharing certain core functionalities throughout them such as users.It features a Padrino Ruby web application as its back-end together with some smart algorithms like matching reviewers to papers.It's front-end is a state-of-the-art piece of work built on Backbone when Backbone pretty much didn't exist.

- Research and develop proofs of concept aiming to integrate social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, willing to expand the knowledge on customers' behavior.- Research and innovate in balanced scorecards to fill the gap between current Business Intelligence solutions and the way the business client perceives and manages his information. Data warehouses for different sectors were built. A prototype integrating financial indicators was developed for a real estate company focused on construction.- Create, develop and implement web-based solutions to integrate organizations with their clients, allowing them to collaborate online in a highly integrated and secure environment using online tools such as Google Apps.- Partner with a national company, Flexxus S.A. to provide Enterprise Resource Planning solutions to Small and Medium Business in Argentina. An implementation was successfully carried out in ECISA S.R.L. on February 2010.
