Designed the architecture of the revised Portland City Code to establish a unanimously adopted national standard for public art, setting a benchmark for public art policies.Provided expert counsel on negotiations in transitioning the City’s multimillion-dollar Public Arts Portfolio and grants contract management system to a more equitable RFP system.Guided the creation and unanimous council adoption of the City’s first impact report on the 10-year-old Arts Education & Access Fund, highlighting the program's effectiveness and reach.Initiated the creation of the City’s Office of Arts & Culture, establishing a dedicated department for arts administration and cultural promotion.Acted as lead policy writer and advisor for the unanimous council adoption of the resolution to fully restore and return the Historic Thompson Elk Fountain.Served as one of six senior architects on the City of Portland vs. Department of Justice Settlement Agreement and as policy advisors, achieving unanimous Council adoption of the City of Portland’s Police Body-Worn Camera Policy and the voter-approved Police Accountability Commission.Demonstrated success fundraising across private and public sectors, spanning philanthropic nonprofit organizations, local, and state institutions.Played a pivotal role in the elevation and integration of the City of Portland’s new Equity Officer into the new city organization chart, enhancing the focus on equitable practices citywide.Advised senior leadership and council staff on the unanimous adoption of the 2024 LGBTQIA2S+ Program Report and Strategic Plan, and on citywide Racial Equity Plans and the new governance model for the Office of Equity and Human Rights.

For more than half a decade, I had the unique honor of managing and leading public outreach efforts, messaging and communications that supported a diverse network of community-based organizations, businesses, nonprofits and groups across the state of Oregon. The philanthropic sector provided me with opportunities to lead the creation and development of statewide projects that engage Oregonians in more significant discussions about equity, train nonprofits on social media best practices and share my work with international communications professionals.Essentially, in this role, I was responsible for developing and executing internal communications and engagement strategies, understanding complex technical and philanthropic issues and explaining them through various multimedia formats and well-written intranet, website and social media posts, talking points, FAQs, video scripts and more.

Sankofa Collective seeks to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support; education; and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure equal human rights. As Co-chair of Sankofa I am responsible for leading the steering committee and setting the tone for all members to ensure that Sankofa establishes and maintains the trust of the community by being clear in its mission, prudent and ethical in its activities, and accountable for its actions. All committee members are responsible for planning, policy-making, and assessing our progress, we oversee governance and policy setting, with a focus on mission, direction, priorities and evaluation.

I was brought on to contribute to social media and serve as editor in chief of the newsletter, which is distributed to an audience greater than 5,000.

QTPOCTalk is a collective that acts act as a bridging resource of support to Portland’s Queer and Trans Community of Color. We seek to provide a voice to the underrepresented qtpoc communities within the state, by interviewing community members and providing resources and monthly updates of current judicial and legislative practices and policies and their relation to and impact on QTPOC communities.

After one month as Basic Rights Oregon’s communications intern, I was recruited by the communications director to manage social media, perform analytics, create visuals, and run digital campaigns. I generated key content for an audience frequently greater than 100,000 per campaign. BRO’s renewed focus on transgender and racial justice provided me the opportunity to speak out on the issues I’m passionate about.

Our alliance created and presented monthly seminars to students about new policies affecting the Lesbian, Gay, Transgender and Queer community within the school. We helped to increase students awareness of the resources available to LGBTQ community members; and heightened inclusion from allies outside of the Queer and Trans community.
