Algebra 2 Math Teacher

As an Algebra 2 teacher, I maximized each student's level of mastery in math as well as their level of discipline within the classroom. My goal was to help pupils develop critical-thinking abilities through gaining an understanding of multiple math concepts. Through research and networking, I became proficient at handling administrative, educator and technical tasks encompassing analyzing and reviewing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), improving rapports, streamlining suggestions for boosting performance and increasing efficiency within the Math Department. Through my continued learning of advanced concepts in IT, I merged technology and education, streamlining different forms of remediation for students, which enabled thorough understanding of math sections and improved student assessment scores, because students now had the ability to study and do objectives on their cell phone, Apple iPad or Android Tablet. As a result of these implementations: - I received the ‘Star for Academic Excellence’ award in 2015 due to my ability to critically think, implement directives and evaluate possible solutions to problems pertaining to diverse math subjects. - I received the “Most Improved Teacher” recognition award for managing my time effectively, meeting deadlines and implementing policies/procedures that facilitated improved SOL scores for students taking Algebra 2 this year. - I assisted the Mathematics Department Head of Nansemond River High School with instructing teachers from other school divisions on how to integrate technology and education into their daily lessons, utilizing an application program known as IXL. - I increased student’s Algebra 2 SOL scores by 42% in 2018 compared to 27% in 2017. - I created an intervention system of discipline to enhance classroom management, that decreased negative behavior and reduced referrals from 18 in 2017 to 1 in 2018.
