Interact with municipal government officials, zoning inspectors and other professionals to research, evaluate and cognize the development potential of specific tracts of land. Select sites for commercial, residential or industrial development, secure adequate funding to develop tracts of land and confer with relevant professionals to establish design and development plans. Interview and hire contractors to execute development and negotiate terms and costs with contractors. Solicit bids to procure a variety of required goods and services. Solicit sources of supplies and analyze price, discount rates, delivery dates, transportation charges, previous performance, commitments, indications of financial responsibility and identifying the most advantageous offer. Assign workloads in terms of objectives, priorities and deadlines and provide additional assistance with new or unusual assignments.
