I have a background working in customer success and service where I've spent years working on my interpersonal and communication skills. As a African American in sales, I've had my fair share of entrepreneurial ventures without enough capital or knowledge to make it very far which motivated me to transition to B2B sales. I've spent the last three months taking a thorough and intensive online course in technology sales development. I've taken a huge liking in reading some awesome sales and personal developments books these past few years from authors like Dale Carnegie to Og Mandino. I've read books like "How to Win Friends and Influence People", "Fanatical Prospecting", and "Spin Selling". All of which I'd like to turn from knowledge to practical skill. I've learned skills like researching new prospects, cold outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn), using CRM/sales engagement platforms, and running a discovery call using SPIN & BANT.As a black man new to the tech industry, I'm currently looking to start from the ground up in a sales development internship role or full-time position where I can refine the skills I've been learning and practicing. I can be a real asset to your sales development team by assisting SDRs with the entire search function or I can even get on the phone and start prospecting.
