Engineering Technician I
- Reviewed and inspected engineering plans prepared by consultants for various types of permits withinpublic space and/or within rights-of-way impacting WASA water, sanitary sewer and storm sewersystems- Collaborated with the public, consultants, DDOT and other government representatives for the processing of public space permits, sheeting and shoring applications, fire flow tests, raze permits, fire hydrant use applications, water and sewer availability certificates, water and sewer availability letters, and surveyor office alley and street closing applications- Interpreted and revised construction design and specifications, comments, making recommendations for changes per permit regulations- Provided technical guidance and assistance in issues relating to the Information Technology areas;manages and updates Maximo, Livelink and other computerized information retrieval systems- Created and edited maps within GIS- Approved projects per DC Water standards, ensures that completed projects are scanned to Livelink;assists the department in scanning projects into Livelink- Collaborated with engineers and other technicians to develop and design alternative recommendations- Effectively communicated compliance or non-compliance with safety rules and regulations- Identified and provided information to the general public, data maintained by the Water and SewerAuthority
