Designed and fabricated a working prototype of a bed occupancy sensor solution for geriatric care (fall prevention and bed sore prevention) with external alarm peripherals and Z-Wave interoperability; it was deployed for proof-of-concept trials at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Econ Healthcare Nursing Homes.Designed and fabricated a working prototype of a wireless and battery-less smart switch, which operates on a piezoelectric renewable energy source, which won the $10,000 Most Socially Responsible Start-up Award at the Ideas Inc 2013 Business Challenge and lead to the offer of the $50,000 ACE Start-up Grant from Spring Singapore.
