As a member of its 25-person management team, I participated in the screening of over 30 deals and the investment of $480,000 of the fund’s assets with three companies. During the period of my directorship, I investigated tech-related companies as a part of the fund’s due diligence process and focused on evaluating product-market fit and go-to-market strategy.

EQR is an S&P 500 publicly traded real estate investment trust based in Chicago, Illinois. During my summer associate tenure, I assisted in the development of a company-wide energy savings strategy. Our team engineered a three-stage process to develop high performance buildings. The Smart Controls Pilot Program we initiated at four properties yielded an estimated reduction in energy consumption of 20%.

Conducted a market and competitive analysis for Popular Community Bank’s cash management and business checking account services. I then developed and presented the bank with a four-tiered account structure that included repackaging transaction limits, account benefits, and pricing structure. The bank ultimately adopted 85% of my recommendations and continues to use them to increase customer satisfaction and maximize profitability.

Managing over $130 million in contracts, I oversaw renovation and new building development projects for this owner-operator of healthcare facilities. Implementing the use of fuel cells, solar cells, micro-turbines, and other green technologies for these projects resulted in a 49% reduction of energy consumption.

I joined Whiting-Turner and quickly advanced to manage the development of the SnowPark Project, the first indoor ski slope built in the United States. The $100 million SnowPark is part of the larger Meadowlands Xanadu/American Dream Meadowlands retail development project.The value-engineering package I created reduced construction costs for the ski slope by $20 million with no reduction in customer experience. As a part of this process, I conceptualized a suspended traversing scaffold system that increased labor efficiency by 40% and decreased construction time by six months.
