I'm Darius Farngalo, a Computer Science undergraduate at the University of Buffalo, currently an AI Research and Development Intern at Unfold Studios. In this role, I enhance interactive storytelling platforms by integrating advanced AI technologies to create more engaging and user-centric educational tools. I develop and test interactive storytelling modules using the Ink programming language and implement AI elements to improve user experience.I'm also interning at The Duhart Group as a Software Engineer Intern, where I am collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop "SafeDocs". This project involves building an end-to-end machine learning operations pipeline using AWS services such as SageMaker, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway. The SafeDocs pipeline automates the extraction, categorization, and analysis of handwritten documents through a scalable, AWS-based solution. I am responsible for integrating the pipeline with various AWS services, ensuring seamless data processing and model training, and creating the necessary technical documentation and deployment strategies.Beyond my technical pursuits, I'm participating in the Google Software Engineering Program (G-SWEP), where I am enhancing my technical interview skills, professional networking, and career development through 1:1 mentoring and workshops with Google SWE mentors. Additionally, I am actively involved in the STEM community through the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), ColorStack, the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP), and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP). These roles reflect my dedication to diversity, leadership, and academic excellence in tech, and my commitment to fostering meaningful connections with peers.
