About Dariush Salami

With seven years of combined experience in data science, software development, and research, I am a passionate and innovative radio research scientist at Nokia Bell Labs. My current focus is on developing and applying AI and machine learning techniques for wireless communication, especially WiFi and 5G/6G.As a PhD researcher and a Marie Skłodowska Curie fellow at Aalto University, I also worked on cutting-edge projects in human-centric sensing, computer vision, and radar-based gesture recognition. I have collected and analyzed data from more than 100 human subjects, developed end-to-end neural network models, and integrated an mmWave FMCW radar on a HoloLens device. My research has resulted in multiple publications in prestigious journals and conferences, as well as Nokia Foundation Scholarship, HPY Scholarship, and TES Grant.
