□ Worked with various data center stake holder groups (Networking group, Unix group, Windows group, Market Data group, Local 3 Electricians, etc.), as well as vendor & telco installers to facilitate installations, repairs & decommissions of data center assets & circuits without incident and according to established procedures from installation through closure & documentation.□ Facilitated & supervised placement and installation of data center equipment by Local 3 union workforce and/or external vendors according to MAC schedule, available cabinet space, power, VLAN, SAN & redundancy requirements.□ Made all data center documentation updates through change-approved Remedy ticketing system.□ Troubleshot all layer 1 issues in the data center & worked with various internal stake holder departments, installers, vendors & telco to resolve all issues successfully & rapidly.□ Performed server hardware repair (added/swapped memory, hard drives, controller cards, NIC, HBA & other PCI cards, batteries, etc.) on mission critical production systems.□ Managed and verified data center inventory, asset & spare parts database; accepted & prepared equipment for shipping or RMA; labeled & asset tagged equipment.□ Managed cable patching schedule, fiber & copper cabling inventory, data center rack equipment & cabling profiles/diagrams.□ Prepared servers, blade systems, networking equipment & cabinet space for equipment installation; maintained & managed data center installation quality control & standardization. Managed decommission storage space.□ Data center equipment covered: HP DL380’s & Dell 2850/2950/6850/R710 servers; HP c7000 & c3000 blade chassis; all Sun servers; StorageTek Tape Library, EMC2, NetApp & Data Domain storage; HP & Dell RAID arrays & tape libraries; Cisco N2K, N5K & N7K, 6500 series; all Cisco routers & switches; Tibco Devices, NetScout & Riverbed network monitoring devices; IBM mainframe; MDF for fiber & copper; etc.
