Search Indexing (Search) is an infrastructure team responsible for all data indexing at Meta. Team aggregates data from variety of data sources, denormalize and prepare for building inverted index. - Worked, enriched and rolled out a way to index data without writing any code (configuration driven). This is now a defacto way of indexing data in a search platform. Along the way, created infrastructure around the functionality, so search engineers can properly test, verify their changes before shipping to production. (e2e owner) - Worked on in-house database for storing denormalized raw data for generation of inverted index. My team was responsible for ingestion, scanning of several PiBs of data daily and also processing billions of real-time updates to keep the data up to date. Logistic team - my team was responsible for critical component of the logistic infrastructure at Zalando. Our software was assigning physical items in the warehouse for orders coming from web site and to generate thousands of picklists optimized for certain KPIs across various Zalando warehouses.Apart from that we maintained monolithic application and retrieved one of our components as a stand-alone service working independently (but in sync with monolith as migration continues)Technologies used: Java, Scala, python, Postgres, Jenkins, aws, stups, dockerRecommendation systems - our team served recommendations for the whole Zalando site.
