  • Morgan Stanley
    Training & Communications
    Morgan Stanley Sep 2003 - May 2013
    New York, Ny, Us
I began my career at Morgan Stanley in 2003 as an administrative support professional, quickly moving up through the organization over a ten-year tenure with the firm from administrative assistant to Assistant Vice President of Training and Communications by 2009. My first professional role as an analyst in 2005 in the Firm Operational Risk Department exposed me to staff training and communications projects, and gave me the opportunity to learn web site coding and staff training management. I consider myself a "woman who (loves to) code!" and found great joy in a good afternoon of html design work! From there, I moved on to an Associate role fully focused on Strategic Communications in the Global Retail Business Risk group in 2007. I happily immersed myself in web site content curation/writing/design/development, created and launched a highly successful e-newsletter to a field of 300+ risk managers, led our executive leader communications, delivered my first series of staff training classes and managed main stage speakers for the annual risk managers leadership conference. I moved back to the Firm Operational Risk Department as an Assistant Vice President in 2010 in a role that combined the communications expertise I had built in Global Retail with greater responsibilities for designing and managing risk training and a business analyst and project management role for the internal GRC system of record. I built, launched and taught a number of courses over two years in this position which sparked my interest and love of training design and the learning disciplines so important to all companies. In my final six months with Morgan Stanley from Jan 2013 - May 2013, I held a contract position in the Global Compliance Training group. In this role I gained expertise in how to run compliance training assignment, reporting and monitoring at scale.
