I have been in the insurance industry in some fashion or another since 1996. I started at VTC in February of 2003 as a CSR for Small Commercial. I am currently the Manager of Small Commercial and oversee a department of 9 CSRs/ASRs. I am also the point person for our Oxford, Lapeer, Farmington Hills and Detroit locations as it pertains to Small Commercial procedures and new business marketing. I am the point of contact for all new business call ins to the agency. If the prospect meets the characteristics of a large account, it is elevated to be assigned to a producer. Anything that remains in small, is a house account and I gather information and set up submissions. I track all new business and assign new marketing to the members of my team. I get involved with marketing new business accounts as well. I also sit on an agency task force where we updated our procedures for all commercial lines at all locations and we are all responsible for implementation and quality control for our prospective departments. I have been tasked with identifying automation needs and utilizing the automation currently available from our carriers to implement best practices when it comes to document delivery, retrieval and streamlining our processing of these items to our clients. I regularly meet with our carrier partners to ensure we meet our goals and maintain good relationships as well as keep apprised of the marketplace. Small Commercial works with a multitude of carriers and brokers with a large focus on contractors, not for profit and human services, transportation, property driven risks and everything in between. I love the diversity of what I have been able to be involved with and the knowledge and confidence that comes with that experience over the years.
