As Director of Paid and Digital Media, I led the digital media team, strategizing and overseeing the management of Valparaiso University's official social media accounts, content creation, website creation, website management, and search engine performance. I created and monitored the performance of paid digital advertising campaigns. I nurtured relationships with outside marketing vendors, advertising partners, and service providers, overseeing their products, performance, and implementation. I provided content creation for social media and the website. I worked collaboratively with the entire marketing team to create marketing collateral for both print and digital media. I provided digital asset and advertising performance reports to marketing leadership. I created a social media policy for the university, outlining expectations and offering guidance for all university-sponsored social media accounts. I provided social media consultation and training for campus colleges and departments. I also served on the campus crisis response team.A highlight of my time at Valparaiso University includes working with the Valpo Day committee to overhaul and execute a social marketing strategy for the university's annual capital campaign. Our collaborative efforts resulted in a successful campaign which exceeded all donor and donation goals.

As Communications Director, my primary mission was to promote Parkdale Center's unique and especially effective substance use treatment program. I worked to ensure those who need treatment most could find Parkdale Center easily, to engage their trust, and to help change their lives. I led the creation and execution of Parkdale's ongoing marketing strategy sensitive to what was actionable, responsive, and met KPIs. This role consisted of the oversight and creation, in conjunction with outside marketing vendors, of all Parkdale's digital and print marketing collateral, from brochures to social media and everything in between. My role at Parkdale Center included copywriting, content creation, social media management, paid advertising, web copy, email campaigns, and more. A highlight of my time at Parkdale Center included working with an outside vendor to completely rebuild the company website. I provided management, strategy, and content for this project, while the vendor provided website development.

As Founder of D. Cohn Communications, I grew this boutique digital marketing firm from providing services as a solo social media marketer to partnering with experts in graphic design and branding, web design, SEO, and more, to offer the full suite of digital marketing services. We helped more than 50 businesses and organizations maximize the effectiveness of their digital marketing assets and strategy. Our clients spanned a wide spectrum of industries, goals and sizes, from local restaurants and service providers to school districts, government agencies, and regional not-for-profits.

As Communications Director, I was responsible for all internal and external communications in print and digital formats. I managed all marketing, and revamped the marketing strategy to save the Parks $30,000 per year. I created a 156-page Master Plan document. I also produced tri-annual print program guides, informational documents, press releases, newsletters, performed website maintenance, and managed social media. Additionally, I planned and project managed three major events per year with thousands of participants, managed budgets, and assisted with development. I also maintained customer and donor databases and provided customer service.

As a first-year Composition professor, I taught two to three courses per semester. My mission was to improve the writing skills of first-year university students, with an emphasis on critical thinking, research, and effective communication. Additional responsibilities included curriculum and composition committees, as well as placement review. I provided additional instruction and organization for extra-curricular events such as SlamCamp and Poetry-palooza -- community events designed to encourage creative expression in children and students.
