I secured EU funding to work with a small team on an open-source and vendor-independent ecosystem inspecting, benchmarking, and building an open inventory and related tooling of cloud servers.

After teaching a variable number of classes per semester on R as an adjunct lecturer, I officially joined the faculty (part-time) on the Vienna campus, teaching data visualization, data transformation, using R in production and in the cloud, creating R packages, and inviting industry experts to share about their DS experiences and using R for work.

I joined the Business Analytics (MsC) program in its first year to run an R Lab for a fantastic group of students, then started to have more and more responsibilities, eventually teaching 5-6 classes per academic year on data management, data visualization, data infrastructures in the cloud, writing R packages, and a series of use-case seminars inviting industry experts.

Co-founded & bootstrapping the next generation of PK/PD modeling platform to democratize access to precision medicine. Managing a small tech team (3) to build highly-available and performant R-based APIs, Angular web app, and HL7/SMART on FHIR EHR integration to support clinical decision-making; privacy/security officer for HIPAA compliance.

Hired to design, implement and maintain a reliable and scalable infrastructure for the DS team, and standardize processes -- using GitOps for batch job definitions, algo and model registry, model versions, auto-generated documentation, monitoring and auto-tracking of used infra resources, R and Python package management, unit tests, reports and alerts; overall ~5k jobs running on ~2k spot instances every day.Also led and contributed to actual data-science projects over the years in campaign creation (e.g. set starting bid), optimizing campaigns (e.g. bid and budget updates, day-parting, campaign life-cycle management), and keyword recommendation as well -- with a daily budget of ~$1M.

Originally supported the ODS Team as the tech lead of rapporter.net, providing the backend infrastructure as a SaaS for the ID-ODS application, then over the years partnered with Andras Farkas to develop the web-, mobile- and desktop application for PK/PD modeling together in our spare time. My main responsibilities were recruiting and managing software engineers, also designing and developing the frontend (jQuery Mobile, Angular), the backend (R, RApache) and cloud infrastructure (AWS).

Managing and running data operations by a good mix of R and AWS, getting rid of Hadoop, creating and monitoring online ads, stream-processing transactional and other data, messaging customers in real-time, designing summary tables abstracting other summary tables, hosting R-based APIs and trying to avoid ad-hoc reports by providing self-service tools to stakeholders.

Designing, developing, maintaining, reviewing and deploying R scripts and packages, integrating those in the data infrastructure - including database management, ETL, automated reports, live dashboards, machine learning models and ad-hoc analysis.

Started as a hobby project with Alex, a fine Serbian R fellow who I've met on StackOverflow, to build an intuitive web front-end to R, the "lingua franca" of statistical analysis, but soon turned out to be a full time position, and I found myself as the technical lead of a UK-based SaaS company working on projects with e.g. a hospital in New York, several companies and NGOs in EU, but in China and Australia as well. The hardest challenge in this venture was the need of strategic planning and that I had to wear cotton suit more often then my liking. Technologies covered: R, Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, CouchDB, Pandoc, nginx, haproxy, (R)Apache, AppArmor, GlusterFS, bunch of APIs.

Initial design and maintenance of a dozen geographically distributed servers providing a HA environment for an online service with around 300K homepage visits and 10K active users each day. My main role covered providing a stable infrastructure for the staff available 24x7, scaling it horizontally (distributed design, load-balancing) on a Debian/Ubuntu basis including tons of custom bash scripts and daemons, nginx, MySQL (~100 GB), Ansible, iptables, HAProxy, server monitoring with Zabbix and a few custom modules, in-game event logging with Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana.

Being a co-founder of this Hungarian limited company dealing with various desktop, market and data mining researches with special focus on spatial analysis and complex methodological questions. I took part in IT and database related tasks along with data preparation, cleaning and analysis on a project basis. Technologies used (in order of importance): R, MySQL, SPSS, PHP, Pandoc, LaTeX.

A Hungarian one-man show teaching statistics and developing custom statistical web applications for reporting and analysis purposes both in the academic sector and for private companies. I have been working with different databases (MySQL, redis, CouchDB and MongoDB) and front-end languages (PHP and Rails) on self-managed Debian-based hosts, all connected to R (statistical programming language) for data analysis.

Started as a trainee doing ad-hoc statistical analysis, but ended up being a generalist IT guy developing (web)applications doing data mining, visualization and reporting. Technologies used at that time: R, LaTeX, HTML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and scripting languages (VB, Autohotkey, Autoit) besides Bash.

I gave four seminars in Methodology of Social Research for one semester to BA/MA students.

I started to work at the Léthatáron/Twist Olivér Foundation as a part-time social worker in a homeless shelter, then I worked on the streets of Budapest for 1.5 years as an outreach social worker.
