Working within the reporting and systems area of the finance team, I am responsible for managing the firm's core finance systems, month end close processes and reporting suites. My team’s main focus is the maintenance and development of the firm’s current practice management system (PMS), Elite Enterprise, and other core financial systems through to reporting. ● Maintenance of system databases, ensuring scheduled SQL tasks are run, performing month-end close and system balancing procedures, ensuring the integrity of data in finance systems, investigating and resolving issues identified promptly● Drive through continued improvement and development of finance systems and processes, taking into account the needs of the department, deploying new functionality where appropriate● Management of the interface between finance systems and other in-house/third-party software● Management of system upgrades and related testing● Troubleshooting finance systems and data issues, liaising with IT or third-party support to ensure efficient resolution● Support the finance team with extraction of data, report design and development using SQL and providing analysis as required● Provide training and assistance to users of finance systems● Project work involving development and implementation of new systems, and development of existing systems● Extensive and on-going liaison with the IT department● Maintenance and preparation of systems/process documentation, procedures and instructions● Provide ad-hoc business and technical help to users on the usage of the finance systems● Liaise directly with the PMS third party suppliers documenting and implementing fixes as appropriate

Working as part of the Commercial data and MI team responsible for the delivery of commercial data analytics, through development of prototype data marts. I am responsible for the development, management and delivery of the commercial data mart (single customer view) and the customer value management tool, which enables the business to effectively and accurately analyse customer behaviours. Working closely with IT technology partners I ensure that system processes and architecture meet all stakeholder requirements. ● Extract, transform & load data from a variety of databases and systems, analysing and interpreting the data to identify financial performance and customer behaviors. This helps the organisation to make actionable recommendations, add value and improve decision making.● Liaising with stakeholders to gather and understand all requirements and objectives, turning these into performance KPIs, and tailoring reporting and analysis to meet diverse business needs. ● Set up, develop, build and monitor reporting dashboards and solutions as required. ● Utilise a wide variety of data sources and tools (SAS, SQL and QlikView) provide actionable insight and analysis to support the objectives of both the area and wider business. ● Create and manipulate datasets to enable pertinent business questions to be answered in an accurate and timely fashion. ● Responsible for the accuracy and relevance of data and to interrogate data quality and potential issues and provide clear analysis of issues from cause to resolution. Ensure existing Commercial and MI data is up to date and accurate by monitoring processes and analysing data quality. ● Promote data literacy and to delivery improved MI and efficiency and upskill the wider team.
