Responsible for 150 staff working within 13 operating theatres. Responsible for a £2 million pound budget. I Provided non clinical management support to the department, regarding budgets, purchasing and storage of stock and equipment as well as staffing, recruitment and contracts for services. Advisor to the procurement team of new eProcurement system (ADB) and leader of test site after implementation. Accountable for KPI’s which include start times of theatre lists, avoidable and non-avoidable delays and finish times.Achievements:Reduction in agency staff achieving annual saving of £45k.Reduction in down time within theatres achieving maximum efficiency and productivity.Standardisation of clinical products accruing savings of £200kReduction of sickness level from highest 5% to lowest 2% in the hospital.

Overall responsibility for ensuring a Strategic & Operational service was provided by the Purchasing Department to all its stakeholders, whilst ensuring that the non pay expenditure was processed according to the Standing Order Procedures and Statutory Financial Instructions. Kept control of the processes to source and purchase commodities required by the trust. Spend is the region of £28 million p.a.
