I am responsible for performing manual tasks and overseeing the automated operations associated with the safe, reliable, efficient, and high throughput production of ethanol and co-products. I conduct continuous inspections of key process points, make necessary machinery and equipment adjustments, identify problems on equipment, and continually monitor equipment. I gather samples for laboratory analysis as scheduled /required, and perform/record required control analyses along with performing extra control tests made necessary by variable raw material, process difficulties, or process investigatory studies. I follow all established safety rules/procedures and alert management of all safety concerns. I monitor, maintain, and care for all issued tools. I have completed the training program and passed the written exam on operating procedures and emergency shutdown procedures as required by the Process Safety Management Committee. I work together with fellow technicians in a professional manner while keeping my work area clean, orderly, and safe. I also work extended hours as needed to meet business demands.

I operate any of the following areas: Ore handling, dissolver, thickener, filter, crystallizer, granulation, and reagent. I communicate effectively and correctly log production information. I monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to plant conditions. I am able to work with hot borate liquors, chemicals and steam in a safe manner. Capable of operating large manual valves and using basic tools in a safe manner. Am able to operate a forklift, bobcat, and am able to lift 55+ lbs. I possess a high level of interpersonal and teamwork skills. I also have basic chemical knowledge (pH, solubility, concentration).

The Transportation Systems Apprenticeship scope of work covers street lighting, traffic signals, and intelligent freeway systems. It is physically demanding work as the majority of conduit and wire is installed underground requiring digging, boring, removal of street surface, and restoration of street surface. Repetitive lifting of 25 to 50 pound objects occurs on a fairly constant schedule. Additionally, the Transportation Systems Electrician works at height installing traffic poles, traffic signals, lighting poles, light heads and freeway board lighting. Performed traffic control to establish safe work areas involves lane closure, setting cones, flashing signal boards, directional signage, and flagging skills. I possess the ability to follow specific instructions--especially involving safety—which is our most important requirement. It is outdoor work with exposure to environmental elements.

Constructed training facilities for the U.S. Army as a carpenter at Fort Irwin, CA building "Iraqi villages” for the purpose of training/preparing soldiers for service in Afghanistan or Iraq. This military base is located in the Mojave Desert, 30 minutes north of Barstow, CA. I worked six to seven days a week, 11 hours a day in extreme weather. I was a leader of a team of laborers, and physically worked hard, as well as directed the team. I also traveled with the company to Fort Carson, CO to build training villages at that military base.

Construction and maintenance of military and government installations. Completed extensive carpentry work across California -- Everything from framing new homes to installing vault doors at weapons armories.

I was the framing foreman for a custom home builder. Was personally responsible for making sure that quotas were met. Was also directly responsible for the safety and production of my team. I completed daily and weekly reports for the owner of the company. This was a small company that allowed me to learn and gain experience in how a business is run.
