Leader of ESCT (Enterprise Software Category Team) group responsible for coordinating software efforts for all major agencies within the United States Federal Government. Responsible for leading efforts to increase product utilization, reduce costs and provide greater efficiencies in the areas of software, software licensing, and software management overall. Also, coordinates major contracting efforts to ensure the introduction of software roadmaps with major vendors, and initiates discussions with customer agencies on best practices in software management, along with software alternatives for the future to enhance customer value. Leads a team of 4 governmental FTE, and three major contractors providing additional business support for increased market penetration. In addition, drives business development efforts to increase product utilization and increase revenue north of over $4.6B a year.

Responsible for the overall strategic planning and direction of the telecommunications category for the General Services Administration - Federal Acquisition Service. Focuses the senior management team and core directors on ensuring that federal agencies get the network and telecommunications services they need to accomplish their mission, at the best possible price, as efficiently as possible. Develops processes and procedures to focus on customer feedback, and to provide supporting telecommunications analysis, along with future insights into where the future telecommunications market is going. Manages a team of contractors and government employees who update the Telecommunications Hallway for GSA with new articles, blogs, and interesting new ideas that might potentially impact telecommunications and applicable networks. In line with this, also brings insight to the team on potential risks and barriers that would impair the group from being the Federal Government’s go-to center for telecom and related IT infrastructure services supporting a market of approximately $5.0B. Strategically assists the senior management team and directors on developing and implementing key initiatives in the telecommunications market, along with developing key metrics for the same initiatives to provide accurate timelines of completion.

Responsibility for leading a group of approximately 14 federal employees and contractors that provide telecommunications and network services for the heartland region that includes Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. In charge of customer relationship management for over 120+ customer agencies within the region and future revenue growth. Also, responsible for revenue generation/maintenance in the area of approximately $10M per year which includes selling such services as VoIP, Internet/Email, Analog dial-up, Cloud hosting, inside cabling installation, managed office solutions, and expanded services/consulting services to other federal customer agencies in the local services contract arena.

I have responsibility for leading a team of approximately 10 individuals that provide strategic planning, resource management and other support services to all GSA/FAS employees in the heartland region that include the areas of Kansas, MIssouri, Nebraska, and Iowa. My team consists of finance and budget, human resources, I.T., strategic planning and resource management individuals. We do lots of community events with local colleges & universities, and it is really very fun!

Helping to mentor at-risk African American males and determine the strategic direction of the organization. Helped to start the first ever mentorship program for African American male children and the 100 Black Men of Kansas City, Missouri.

Coached a team of approximately 35 accountants and financial specialists to ensure centralized support for the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) and the Farm Services Agency in the area of receivable/debt management & collection functions for the Controller, and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of FSA. Also, responsible for debt management operations for FSA with a nationwide debt portfolio consisting of approximately 26,000 debts totaling over $154M. In addition, leader of the Tobacco Transition Assessment Program (TTAP) with responsibility for delivery of over 1,700 invoices to approximately 500 tobacco manufacturers and importers each year at over $953M annually.

Lead a staff of over 30 full time housing specialists and a board of director team dedicated to providing low-to-moderate residential housing for families in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Responsible for new builds as well as rehabs and warehouse sales to the public of reconstituted/donated materials. Strategic plan for 2010 calls for approximately 8-13 new builds and potentially up to 24 rehabs in the metro area.

My responsibilities included growing the membership base, and developing strategy for the group. Also, leader of the effort to integrate operations with other like-minded non-profit organizations.

Leader of performance improvement team responsible for over $23M in cost savings in fiscal year 2006 involving telecommunications, branch operations, real estate expansion, office supplies, and energy management. In FY2006, also worked with the internal Knowledge Development training staff to increase training efficiency and effectiveness for over 100,000 tax professionals. Resulted in over $2M in annual savings. Leader of 5 direct reports, along with being the initiator of all training courses to promote professional growth & development for process improvement and strategic planning for Program Management Office personnel. Captured approximately $29.5M in expense savings for Fiscal Year 2007.

Responsible for small business consulting services involving business operations, financial accounting processes, supply chain management, human resource operations, as well as responsible for developing marketing and advertising campaigns, along with improving efficiency & effectiveness in business operations. Major client included ‘3 Friends Restaurant and Bar-B-Q’ in Kansas City, Missouri with over 25 direct reports. Results led to improving restaurant profitability by 400% in a 3-month period.

Leader of purchasing, contracting, and cost management of a 7-unit hospital network in the greater Los Angeles, CA area with annual revenues over $350M per year. Director of day-to-day operations for regional offices, client services support to hospitals, and physicians contracted to the organization. Also, in charge of the capital budgeting process for all major equipment purchases, negotiating with all major vendors, and establishing improved process improvements throughout the healthcare network.

Managed overall streamlining of the Broadband manufacturing process, along with increasing wafer starts, increasing assembly/test capacity, along with lowering package and die costs. Responsible for 5 direct reports with manufacturing oversight for 6 front-end manufacturing locations in Europe, Asia, and in the United States, along with 4 back-end assembly sites. Managed the manufacturing capital budget for the Broadband Business Group of $60M annually and directed customer relationship management (CRM) services for the “top 20” strategic customers for Broadband.

Directed and led a team of over 90 logistics people in contracting, procurement, & maintenance of a 173-heavy vehicle construction fleet valued at $7.4M. Responsible for capital budgeting and investment analysis modeling for the entire squadron with spending authority up to $100M.
