I am a co-founder and managing partner at new firm called Substata LLC which was created after the recent dissolution of Soilogic, Inc. I have worked as a Geotechnical Field/Project Engineer at the Longmont, CO branch office of Terracon Consultants, Inc and as a Senior Project Engineer and Geotech Department Manager at Soilogic for nearly 30 years. During this time, I gained extensive experience in the design and construction of residential, commercial and municipal foundations, pavements and water/wastewater transmission pipelines and facilities. My job responsibilities included equal parts field work and office work. I supervised field geotechnical explorations (drilling, logging and sampling of test borings), analyzed laboratory test data and prepared technically sound and concise engineering reports. In addition, I have also reviewed construction documents and performed observations and inspections during the construction of foundations, pavements and septic systems to verify compliance with specifications and requirements on many of these projects. For the first year and a half of my time with Terracon, I was employed as a Construction Materials Technician, performing earthwork and asphalt density monitoring and testing with a nuclear gauge, concrete testing, and construction observations and inspections. During my nearly two decade career in Colorado, I have established and maintained numerous contacts in the construction and engineering fields throughout the Front Range. I possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and have a proven track-record to get projects completed quickly and cost-effectively.Specialties: Systems Proficiency/Knowledge: Soil modification/improvement techniques for swell/heave mitigation, Microsoft Office applications, GiNT geotechnical integration program, AASHTO and CDOT pavement design programs and procedures, shallow and deep foundation design, AutoCAD for general drafting purposes.
