• Recommends changes and additions to ensure compliance with fire protection and prevention requirements pertaining to life safety. Inspects and corrects deficiencies in a variety of fixed fire protection systems, many of which are complex and/or designed for the specific operations and hazards. Able to communicate with all levels of management in gaining acceptance of good fire prevention practices.• Evaluated and analyzed behavioral, environmental and statistical data and prepared charts, tables and reports to communicate this information to management, staff and others. I developed safety education and training material and conducted safety training to managers, supervisors, and staff. I was the subject matter expert and principle advisor responsible for planning, developing and coordinating the safety and occupational health program for the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and its nine clinics. My work and productivity directly impacted the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center employees, volunteers and visitors. I was also in charge of inspecting privately operated food and hospitality concessions, a small water treatment plant, maintenance shops and a variety of governmental facilities.• Establishes the safety and occupational health education and training program requirements and oversees execution. Develops, evaluates, and revises training programs and courses to determine objectives, curricula, media, and methods of instruction.• Capable of developing and instituting preventative maintenance requirements for equipment related to the compliance program. Analyze compliance directives and requirements, manufacturer recommendations/specifications and laws and regulations. Tracks and assures that preventative maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
