Planner, Customer Service Supervisor

Initial position as a Regional Freight Planner. Primary responsibilities were to ensure effective coordination (including maximizing service and cost performance) of inbound and outbound freight movements for all customer orders and manufactured inventory between the carrier and consignment locations. Mid 2001, transitioned into the National Team Planner role and was responsible for safe and cost effective routing of a 125 truck team fleet and associated team transit customer freight. From 2002 to early 2003 my role was Second Shift Supervisor. I was required to oversee all company operations from 3-11PM hours including: supervising all employees, coordinating any communication between regional terminals and the main terminal in Iowa City, ensuring all customer needs were met, and issues resolved. 2003-2004 Weekend Dispatch. Part of a six person team responsible for comprehensive needs of a three thousand truck fleet during weekend operations. Safety and compliance, customer satisfaction and freight tracking, load booking, all aspects of truck line operations during this period. 2004-2006 Customer Service Supervisor. ensuring daily operational requirements were met as well as actively assisting in issue resolution(s) occurring within the team and drivers. During that time, led weekly meetings with 18 direct reports, providing guidance and leadership. Developed relationships with external customers and worked in tandem with them to understand their processes and to ensure seamless communication with our team. Worked closely with internal customers: safety, regional planners, sales, fleet and maintenance to ensure cost effective, positive customer outcomes.
