Darrell “Coach” Steele is currently the Program Director for BWB Global Concepts in Atlanta Georgia. BWB Global Concepts serves as the program contractor for the Georgia Department of Corrections. BWB is contracted to implement the Second Chance State-wide Adult Recidivism Reduction 2012 Grant. Under the contract, BWB provides reentry services in both Columbus and Atlanta Georgia. Prior to this, Mr. Steele was the Program Coordinator for Holly Tree Supportive Services reentry program; a pilot program with the Georgia Pardons and Parole program, and the Georgia Department of Corrections collaboration. This pilot program was designed to provide supportive housing for returning offenders diagnosed with mental health disorder. He was responsible for coordinating five (5) transitional housing facilities. He supervised a staff of 12 security personal, three (3) case managers, and direct-care staff and volunteers. He developed and maintained strong community alliances with county and state law enforcement agencies, members of the Governor’s Office of Transition, and the Support and Reentry Steering Team. He develops, oversees, and monitors the local implementation process and coordinates local community involvement in the overall state-wide Georgia Prison Reentry Initiative (GA-PRI) development process. He worked as a member of the State Reentry Task Force Work Group, and Special Populations under the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice Reform. He is a Board Member of the People Impacted by Incarceration Collaborative (PIIC), and a VIP Alumni Member for United Way. He received his B.A. in Communications at Cameron University, and a B.A. in Ministry at Jacksonville Seminary School. He is a certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (Cares), Trainer, Science of Addiction Recovery (SOAR), Moral Recognition, (MRT) facilitator, and a certified Professional Life Coach. Mr. Steele has dedicated his time in making a positive difference in our society.
