Professional Life Coaching: The goal is to go along side our clients to help them discover new ways to become successful.Plumbline provides comprehensive integrated case management and mentoring services for men returning to the community from various prisons in Georgia; and for men, who are living with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders in a mixed transitional housing community. Supported by and premised on risk-needs-responsivity assessments and other evidence-based practices that promote effective and successful reintegration, Plumbline’s mission is to provide ex-offenders with the necessary cognitive and behavioral skill sets to take concrete steps toward becoming self-sufficient, self-fulfilled, tax-paying and law-abiding citizens, who can take their rightful place as head of their family. To achieve this goal, Plumbline has, as one of its primary objectives, the expansion of its mentoring program to include pre-release coaching within the penal institution and post-release coaching outside of prison. While mentoring may be seen by some as the lynchpin that holds re-entry together, we at Plumbline understand that mentoring is not the sole panacea to the complex issues confronting men returning from prison with or without mental health disorders . Consequently, our secondary objective is to continue developing collaborative relationships with service providers, who can effectively address the men’s needs in the areas of permanent housing, education, healthcare, employment, and counseling. To accomplish this objective, Plumbline has been removing procedural barriers and opening doorways to Georgia’s vast entitlement and social service system for formerly incarcerated men ranging in age from nineteen to sixty.
