I added a new role to the Critical Care Transport dept. We are now doing PICC lines, both as in patient and out patient. We use the Sherlock 3cg system for confirmation of the PICC line.

Becoming an EMT is what started my healthcare career, I found that I love the rush of adrenaline I get with emergency medicine. The trauma patients and the critically ill are what keep me in this field.

I worked The Aroostook Medical Center ER for 6 years with last 4 being the lead Preceptor of new grad nurses. I remain a casual employee here and still greatly enjoy the work and the people.

I am the initial RN Supervisor of this start-up dept. Aroostook Critical Care Transport (ACCT) now Crown Critical Care Transport. We operate out of Presque Isle Maine, We are part of the Northern Light Health system now, and we no longer provide air transport services. We still do Critical Care Transport, but by ground now. We are more involved in the specialized care in AR Gould Hospital. Our team specialize in vascular access using Ultrasound guidance as well as RSI. Some of our team are trained to insert PICC lines and Mid Lines. We respond to all internal emergencies as able, and continue to transport critical level patients to specialized centers.

I respond to fires and other health related emergencies. I am not as actively involved in the firefighting side any more, but still love the emergency work. I am retired from this position as of 2/28/18.

Started farm work on family farm while in school, then full time until 2002. I loved working outdoors, but I wanted something more challenging.
