Manages and directs the Adult and Juvenile Diversion Program, Juvenile Prosecution Section, and the Neighborhood Justice Center. The Neighborhood Justice Center is designed to provide citizens an opportunity to mediate disputes prior to Court action. The Neighborhood Justice Center receives referrals from law enforcement agencies, schools, housing authority, courts, and citizen self-referrals. Establishs program goals, policies and procedures to ensure that cases are handled in a fair, professional and sensitive manner. Assists in the preparation of the program’s budget. Responsible for facilities management to include space planning and growth projections in furtherance of the Administration’s goals. Oversees maintenance needs for the office. Plans and coordinates moves of departments or individuals. Maintains appropriate contacts and develops necessary relations with County Facilities and other vendors to meet the needs of the office. Supervises program staff; completes performance evaluations; assists in hiring, training and counseling staff; establishes priorities and delegates tasks; reviews work in progress and oversees that policies and procedures are adhered to. Responds to written, telephone and walk-in inquiries. Prepares reports and public information releases. Completes paperwork relevant to services provided and notes observations, concerns, progress and other case information in client file. Works with community groups to inform them of programs and goals. Gives public presentations upon request. Coordinates program’s efforts with other appropriate community agencies.
