Joined a team of engineers working on implementing a Positive Train Control (PTC) system that is compliant with the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008. The PTC system is a predictive collision avoidance technology that can stop a train before an accident occurs. Below are my current job Tasks and Responsibilities: • Plan, design, implement, and manage PTC wayside programming projects. • Individual responsible for administration and technical direction of a programming project. Responsibilities typically include planning, organizing, managing, and distributing the programming project.• Create custom signal system application software programs for ELECTROLOGIXS, VHLC, MICROLOK ǁ, EC5 and EC4 units to control railroad Interlockings and Intermediate locations. • Written custom Reduced Test Validation (RTV) signal system application programs for VHLC, ELECTROLOGIXS, and MICROLOK ǁ units to control railroad Interlockings and Intermediate locations.• Produce and complete program notes, simulation test sheets, release-locking chart, and lamp-out test sheets.• Perform Quality Check procedure on programs according to XRL compliance. • SIM Test Certified in VitalSIM and SATS software.• Research, update, create, and provide all CSX Project Status Reports to the Director of CSX Programming Department which improves efficiency as well as meeting VLC programming due dates. • Maintain and update the signal system application software Best Practices Guidelines used for external customer.• Ability to read final hardware and software designs of railroad wayside signals and at-grade crossing designs.• Proficient knowledge of railroad wayside system operations, signal engineering principles, and concepts including knowledge of accepted railway industry quality standards.• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely, tailored to target audience.
