Responsible for the financial results, tax planning, reinsurance analysis, reinsurance negotiations, investment strategies, banking relationships, statistical analysis and financial strategic planning.Directed the planning and formation of an offshore reinsurance company in Bermuda in 1989 in partnership with Proassurance, Kentucky Medical and FPIC. Was a key player in the development of the design and structure of the reinsurance agreement, investment policy and tax strategy. Prepared quarterly financial statements and communicated on a regular basis with legal, tax and Bermuda authorities.Reduced the company’s federal income tax burden from an effective tax rate of 68% to 20% in three (3) years through the use of financial reinsurance arrangements and tax-advantaged securities. Assisted in the formation of a Georgia domiciled life insurance company.

Responsible for the financial statements of a $150 million property and casualty insurance company and two (2) subsidiaries. Directed and coordinated the corporate budget for three (3) companies, forty-seven (47) cost centers and the billing and collection for over 350,000 policyholder accounts. Managed eighteen (18) employees.

Audited banks, real estate and insurance companies. Eventually joined my largest client, Cotton States, as the Vice President and Controller.
