Qualification Recognition Capacity Building Project (2013-2015) led by Manitoba Labour and Immigration (LIM) in partnership with Manitoba Start, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). A significant project outcome included the development of professional-specific resource guides. Each guide is designed to help internationally educated professionals (IEPs) and service providers gain a better understanding of regulated professions in Canada/Manitoba, the requirements/process for professional registration, and tools and resources available to support IEPs through the process. Average length of each guide is 40 pages. Resource development for professional associations, service providers, and career practitioners included a Qualification Recognition Resource Guide and a Guide to International Academic Assessments. Manitoba profession-specific guides for internationally educated professionals included the following professions: Agrologists, Architects, Engineers, Engineering Technicians and Technologists, Lawyers, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Nurses, Optometrists, trades, Veterinarians, and others.

Providing an introduction to the Spanish language. Developing basic skills in speaking and listening for travelers to the Spanish-speaking world with emphasis on pronunciation, basic vocabulary, phrases, and cultural cues.
