I coordinated the technical assistance, professional development, communication strategies, and capacity building for California's 71 consortia participating in the Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG). AEBG funds are provided to eligible adult education consortia throughout California for the purpose of implementing regional plans for adult education. The intent of AEBG is to expand and improve the provision of adult education via these consortia by leveraging resources and building regional and statewide collaboration.The Sacramento County Office of Education is the technical assistance provider for this project in partnership with the American Institutes of Research, WestEd, Outreach and Technical Assistance Network, and CASAS, among other partner agencies. AEBG is operated through the California Community College Chancellor's Office and the California Department of Education.

I coordinated the healthcare services and biological sciences pathways for the Capital Region Academies for the Next Economy (CRANE) program. CRANE is a seven county, 22 district regional effort throughout the Sacramento Valley and foothills to transform K-12 instruction so that it articulates more seamlessly with postsecondary instruction and works more efficiently and effectively with local business to ensure high school students are fully prepared for any college and/or career choice they wish to pursue. The position was a three year grant-funded position that ended June 30, 2017.

I oversaw the statewide Linked Learning Pilot Program administered by the California Department of Education (CDE). As part of this work, I facilitated a statewide coalition of educational, business, and community stakeholders to ensure the success of the pilot.I also staffed the CDE's Next Generation Science Standards work and State Superintendent Tom Torlakson's STEM Task Force.I previously oversaw numerous California State Board of Education (SBE)-authorized charter schools and presented reports to the SBE on the status of these charter schools.

I taught fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in a multi-subject classroom. I also worked with district officials to review and adopt multiple textbook series as well as other senior teacher duties.

I spent three summers in between teaching years working for the California Business Roundtable on multiple education efforts including California's application for the National Math and Science Initiative.

Over the summer when I was teaching, I worked for the Governor's Office of Planning and Research performing bill analysis on a wide-ranging set of issues.
