Loss Control Consultant
Self-Employed
As a Loss Control Consultant my primary focus is loss prevention and assisting insurance companies in managing their risk of loss. My duties include scheduling with policy the holder(s) or property manager to conduct interior/exterior inspections of residential and commercial properties. Identify, photograph, and explain any property or liability hazards. I conduct thorough inspections of high-risk properties such as restaurants, auto body shops, and garages. Ensure all required fire inspection tags are current for commercial kitchens and auto body shop’s automatic extinguishing systems (AES). Inspect wet and dry fire sprinkler systems and fire extinguishers. Make recommendations to improve the risk as needed to lower the potential of a loss being incurred. I also measure buildings to ensure accurate square footage and complete dwelling sketches to calculate replacement cost by using RCT software and simultaneously determining building materials used in construction. Ensure all inspections are completed in a timely manner. I work independently with little to no supervision and multitask every day. Time management is a critical component to completing the assigned workload. I have used numerous online submission portals for submitting completed reports. I have completed inspections for over 60 different insurance companies with varying levels of risk: Narragansett Bay Insurance, USSA, Met Life, Lexington, Universal Property and Casualty, Lloyd’s of London, Evanston Insurance Company, Avondale Insurance Associates, Nautilus Insurance Company, Central Mutual Insurance, Norfolk & Dedham Group, Vermont Mutual Insurance, Union Mutual Insurance, Coastal Agents Alliance, Alterra Excess & Surplus Insurance, Canopius US Insurance, Ironshore Specialty Insurance Group, Arbella Insurance Company, Liberty Mutual and others.
