Darrell Warner is responsible for the Boeing Company’s Network and Space Systems (N&SS) Space Exploration division’s Safety and Mission Assurance and interim leader for the N&SS Mission Assurance organization. As the Safety and Mission Assurance Director for the Space Exploration division he leads employees in Alabama, California, Florida and Texas in creating and sustaining a culture of safety and mission success. Space Exploration division programs include the Space Launch System (SLS), the International Space Station (ISS) and the Commercial Crew Transportation System (CCTS). Mr. Warner has over 37 years of experience in the aerospace industry. His areas of expertise include computer engineering, systems engineering and complex systems integration. Mr. Warner serves as the Boeing executive focal for Southern University in Louisiana where he is a member of the council of the visitors for the school’s College of Engineering, Business and Industry Cluster, and the Computer Science Advisory Board. He is also the Boeing executive focal for Prairie View A&M University. He is responsible for managing all charitable funding and in kind contributions to the universities. He is also the Boeing executive focal for the Career Communications Group Black Engineer of the Year Awards Program, Advancing Minorities in Engineering (AMIE), and the Boeing Houston Black Employees Association.Mr. Warner earned his Bachelor’s of Computer Science degree from Southern University in 1979. He’s done graduate work in computer architecture and software engineering at the University of California-Los Angeles and the University of Houston-Clear Lake. In 2007 Mr. Warner was recognized as a “Top 100 Most Important Blacks in Technology” by the Career Communications Group at the 21st Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference. Darrell was recently selected as the 2016 Lifetime Achievement award winner for the National Society of Black Engineers.
